“I’m making a Sea Pageant because I want to be part of creating weird outdoor public spectacle in praise of the mighty ocean. We owe a lot to the sea and its inhabitants; I’d like to unite in some gratitudenous celebration. Art, in all its forms, needs to be part of the organizing and movement building work we are doing towards liberation...maybe dancing together on the beach is a few steps toward being stronger together. And I’m in love with the horseshoe crab.”
